 Craft Project Directions: To make this craft project you will need green and yellow construction paper, string, tape, glue, scissors, a background piece of paper, markers and crayons. To begin take a large piece of green construction paper, roll it into a tube, and secure it with tape. Make sure the tube is wide enough for a leprechaun to slide down into but too tall for the leprechaun to climb out of unaided. Next take your scissors and cut tabs in the bottom of the tube and tape these tabs to your background piece of paper so your tube stands up straight and securely. Next take a length of string and tie a knot in it every inch or so - this will be a string ladder which will entice and aid your leprechaun to climb up the green tube. Tape the top of the string to the top of the tube. Now take your yellow paper and cut out a small rectangle with a tab - use the picture as a guide- write Free Gold! on it- and tape it to the top of the tube. Now decorate your tube with your markers or crayons- you could add Irish flags, rainbows, shamrocks, jewels, etc. Next place some sparkling paper or gold coins in the very bottom of the tube- with some luck, a leprechaun will scale the tube, lose his balance when he sees the gold below, fall into the tall tube and be unable to escape.
