Create a calendar highlighting African American achievement!
Craft Project Directions: Create a large calendar for the month of February and on each day write an important milestone
or occurence in African-American history. Write down the person or place and the achievement. Use the
Every Day is a Special Day function to find some important dates that interest you to create your calendar
or do outside research. To make a basic calendar: Take a piece of construction paper and rest it down vertically in front of you. Next cut out a colorful monthly banner and write the month of the year across it Next cut out 5 weekly strips and divide them into seven pieces and attach them to the large piece of construction paper from the bottom up leaving room for your monthly banner. Next cut out day headers and write the days of the week across them and tape or glue them above the weekly strips. Number the days on your calendar. Now you can ready to decorate! Decorate all the components of your calendar with crayons, paper shapes, and any and all materials from your toolbox. If you want to decorate your calendar even more- create a picture for the month to add to the top of the calendar.
