Delaware Tribe ![]() The Delaware Indians, also known as the Lenni Lenapi, were a nation comprised of many tribes who lived in parts of New Jersey, Delaware, New York, and Pennsylvania. They spoke different dialects of the Algonquian language. There were three major clans- the Turtle, the Wolf, and/or the Turkey. They were farmers and grew corn, pumpkins, squash, tobacco, and beans. They also hunted deer, fished, and built pine dugout canoes. They lived in longhouses and were also known for their beadwork, wampum, and basketry. More from Wikipedia |
